Terms of Use

These terms explain the permission to use Terminalis and the responsibilities that come with using a local terminal application.

Effective August 31, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

Terminalis is owned and operated by Oleksii Chekulaiev. By downloading, installing, or using the Terminalis application, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use Terminalis.

2. License to use the compiled application

Individual users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the compiled Terminalis application for their own personal productivity and commercial productivity. This permission does not transfer ownership of Terminalis or grant rights to its source code.

3. Source code and reserved rights

Terminalis source code is private and all rights are reserved. Unless a separate written license expressly says otherwise, access to a copy of the source code does not grant permission to use, copy, modify, publish, distribute, sublicense, or create derivative works from it. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are retained by Oleksii Chekulaiev.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

  • redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially provide Terminalis;
  • copy, modify, or create derivative works from Terminalis except where a separate written license permits it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent that applicable law does not allow this restriction;
  • remove ownership, copyright, or attribution notices;
  • use Terminalis to violate law or the rights of another person; or
  • use Terminalis in a way that damages, disrupts, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to another system.

5. Local data and your responsibilities

Terminalis stores profiles, saved commands, settings, and terminal history on your Mac. You are responsible for securing and backing up your device and local data. Terminalis does not provide cloud backup, recovery, or synchronization.

Terminalis runs commands that you choose. You are responsible for reviewing commands, understanding their effects, protecting credentials and environment values, and confirming that you are authorized to access the systems those commands affect. A saved command is not a safety guarantee.

6. Ownership

Terminalis, its design, branding, compiled application, website, documentation, and original materials are owned by Oleksii Chekulaiev and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Third-party components

Terminalis may include open-source or other third-party components. Those components remain subject to their own licenses and notices. If a third-party license conflicts with these terms for that component, the third-party license controls for that component only.

8. No warranties

Terminalis and this website are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Oleksii Chekulaiev disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, reliability, availability, and error-free operation.

Terminal software can run commands that change or delete files, processes, or system settings. You should review commands and maintain appropriate backups.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Oleksii Chekulaiev will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost access, business interruption, or damage caused by commands run through Terminalis. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Termination

The license granted by these terms ends automatically if you materially breach them. When it ends, you must stop using Terminalis and delete copies of the compiled application in your possession. Sections concerning ownership, restrictions, disclaimers, liability, and terms that by their nature should survive will remain effective.

11. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how Terminalis and this website handle information and is part of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Terminalis evolves. The effective date above will change when a revised version is posted. Continuing to use Terminalis after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
