Privacy Policy

Terminalis is designed to keep your development workspace on your Mac and to collect as little information as possible.

Effective October 14, 2026

1. The Terminalis application

Terminalis does not require an account and does not include advertising, telemetry, or Terminalis-operated cloud storage. Profiles, saved commands, settings, and terminal history are stored locally on your Mac.

Terminalis does not send your commands, terminal output, working directories, environment values, tags, settings, or history to The Developer. Commands you run may contact services that you choose to use; those services have their own privacy practices.

Local crash diagnostics record session details, warnings, errors, and panic reports on your Mac. They are not uploaded automatically. Terminalis does not deliberately collect command arguments, environment snapshots, or terminal output in those records, but error messages can contain paths or application data. Review records before sharing them. See the local diagnostics guide for storage locations and retention.

AI harness tracking observes local agent activity and integration events to show status and attention alerts. Terminalis does not send those events to The Developer. Agents you run may contact their own services under their respective privacy practices.

Command Assistant is optional and uses a ChatGPT connection you add in Settings. When you request a command, Terminalis sends your request and any clarification exchange, shell name, operating system, and current folder path to the selected provider. It does not automatically include terminal output, history, environment values, directory listings, or file contents. Information you type into a request or answer is included in the submitted text. The provider handles that data under its own policies.

AI sign-in credentials are stored locally, separately from general settings, and are excluded from portable .terminalis exports. Use Settings → AI to disconnect or remove a connection. See the Command Assistant guide for details.

2. This website

This website has no forms, user accounts, advertising pixels, or marketing trackers. Terminalis does not set or manage cookies on this website.

The website is hosted by ChatGPT Sites. Sites automatically records aggregate unique-visitor and page-view analytics and maintains operational logs needed to deliver, secure, and operate the hosted service. Terminalis does not receive visitor names, email addresses, or any content from the Terminalis app through these analytics or logs.

3. Downloads and standard requests

When you request a page or download the Terminalis disk image, the hosting and network infrastructure processes standard request information—such as an IP address, browser details, requested file, and timestamp—to deliver the content, prevent abuse, and diagnose service problems. Terminalis does not use this information to build advertising profiles or connect website activity to your local app data.

4. External links and services

A Terminalis page or a command you run may link to or communicate with a third-party website or service. This policy does not cover those third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

5. Data choices

Because Terminalis does not receive your local app data, it cannot retrieve, correct, export, or delete that data for you. You control it on your Mac by editing or removing Terminalis data and the application itself. Your browser and device settings control any data stored by the hosting platform.

6. Changes to this policy

This policy may change if Terminalis adds features, changes hosting, or adopts different data practices. A revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be described clearly before they apply where practical.
